1. PURPOSE
It is established to ensure require electric supply (in case of power failure) in the factory.
2. SCOPE
It is applicable in the whole factory whenever electricity is required due to power failure.
3. RESPONSIBILITY
Maintenance officer (Mechanical / Electrical)
Maintenance Supervisor (Mechanical / Electrical)
4. PROCEDURE
The Generator with instrument is handled in the following way.
CLEANING:
Clean the generator with clean cloth to remove dust.
Clean and check all tools required for the maintenance and normal usage.
Clean the air intake filters with air pressure guns when required.
Wash the radiator with plain water once a month.
In case of power failure switch the generator to “ON”.
Check the oil pressure and fuel pressure gauges.
After gaining the specified 50 HZ, voltage, put the main load on it and then check amps.
To meet any kind of emergency check the voltage, amps, fuel gauge etc during running condition.
5. MAINTENANCE
MONITORING OF MACHINE MAINTENANCE:
Time to time check each and every part of Generator according to the maintenance schedule.
Check the following parts carefully.
Oil Level
Fan Belts
Batteries
Electronic Control Panel
Battery Charger
Bushes and pins
This activity is then documented in the form Machinery & Equipment Maintenance Log
Check the Generator condition time to time to find any kind of problem during operation.
All the monitoring record is filed and kept by the Maintenance Supervisor.
EMERGENCY / BREAKDOWN MONITORING:
Maintenance Manager receives Maintenance Work Order duly signed by the section incharge of the concerned machinery or equipment.
Maintenance Work Order is assigned a number according to the receiving in the Maintenance Reference Register.
Maintenance Manager assigns the maintenance work to the concerned personal
After the completion of work the section incharge signs the completion of Work Order.
All the record is filed and kept by the Maintenance Supervisor.
PRECAUTIONS:
Check the engine oil level, before starting the generator.
Check the water level of radiator.
Check all the filters (oil filter, air filters) time to time change then when required.
Check the diesel oil tank level.
tart & stop the generator on idle speed.
Gradually increase the speed when going to start.
Gradually decrease the speed when going to stop.
Do not overload the generator by specified limits.
Keep the generator room well ventilated during operations.
During operation of generator handle it with extreme card.
Maintain the battery water level.
Check the battery charges unit on daily basis.
Change the engine oil if needed.
