CALIBRATION OF LABORTORY GLASS WARE, PIPPETE CYLINDER

1. PURPOSE

To provide a procedure for calibration of Laboratory Glass Ware, Pipette and Cylinders.

2. SCOPE

This procedure covers all glassware, pipette and cylinders being calibrated by Siza International.

3. EQUIPMENT USED

Digital Calibrated Balance.

4 PROCEDURE

Note down all relevant information of instrument in the Calibration Record Sheet.
Clean the balance.
Adjust zero error if applicable, check level of balance also and adjust it if required.
The pipette or Cylinder has to be checked on its full scale.
Calibration should be done at least four times.
Take distilled water of 20 ÂșC.
Place the empty jar on the scale and adjust zero set.
Now fill the pipette or cylinder with distilled water up to full scale and drain it completely in the empty jar on the balance.
Now check the reading on balance and note down in the column TEST VALUE.
Please note that one ml of Distilled water is equal to one Gram.
Repeat the step 7,8 and 9 for all other readings.





Now analyze the deviation.
If the deviation is within specified deviation affix the calibration sticker on the instrument and submit the data sheet to calibration incharge.
Calibration incharge prepares the calibration report and submit to the Manager Maintenance.
The calibration report is sign by concern calibration incharge and then by Manager Maintenance.
